Lumberton Crayon Drive

Lumberton Primary School students are all about helping kids just like them in their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. During Month of Miracles in March, they will be collecting new boxes of 8-16 Crayons to donate to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth.

When children are hospitalized, it’s important for their well-being and development to maintain a sense of normalcy throughout their stay. St. Elizabeth’s Child Life Department does just that by providing young patients with crayons and other materials as a creative outlet to express themselves, while at the same time helping alleviate anxiety.

“We truly believe that if we teach our students the importance of serving the community, then they will continue their acts of service as adults.” -Gretchen Scroggins, Lumberton ISD Coordinator for Special Programs & Communications.

The Crayon donation from Lumberton students will be made to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth Hospital on March 29 – just in time for #NationalCrayonDay on March 31!
